Andrew Brown, head coach of the men’s basketball program at Northwestern Oklahoma State University has signed Dane Thrash of Cheyenne to a Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Rangers in the upcoming season.
Last season at Cheyenne-Reydon High School, Thrash averaged 25.4 points, six rebounds, and 3.4 steals and assists per game. He was an Oklahoma Coaches Association and Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association All-State selection and will participate in both the OCA and OBCA All-State Games later this summer.
“Dane is a good player who can score with the perimeter shot and with his dribble,” stated Brown. “He will need to get used to the speed of the game and develop his ability to defend at this level.”
Thrash was a Class A first-team all-state selection and also voted the Most Valuable Player and an Academic All-Star in his conference. He was named the MVP of the Fargo Tournament and at the Bi-County Tournament.
