The Northwestern Oklahoma State Ranger Football team was ranked 13th in the fifth annual National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Football Top 25 Spring Coaches’ Poll. The Rangers received 191 votes, while Carroll College (Mont.) took the top spot with 340 votes. The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and independents.
Since 2000, Northwestern ranks fourth in the number of times they have received a No. 1 ranking, accomplishing that feat 11 times.
Northwestern opens the 2011 football season against Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Ranger Field on Saturday, September 3. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
