NORTHWESTERN RELEASES 2010 FOOTBALL SCHEDULENorthwestern Oklahoma State University’s 2010 Ranger football schedule will include a full slate of 10 games, including four home games and six on the road. Head Coach Keith Barefield, who has posted a 22-11 record in three seasons, will lead the Rangers through a schedule that features three NCAA teams.

“The 2010 schedule is the most challenging one we have faced since I arrived at Northwestern”, said Barefield.

“We open the season with three of our first four games against NCAA Division II or NCAA FCS programs. We will definitely have our metal tested early. Then, when we get into conference play, we face our top three challengers all on the road. After September and October, we will enjoy two straight home games in November.”

“Without a doubt, we have our work cut out for us this fall, but we look forward to meeting the challenge,” stated Barefield.

The Rangers kick off the season with a pair of road games. They will travel to NCAA Division II Colorado State University–Pueblo for the season opener on Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. in Pueblo, Colo. After an idle week, Northwestern will make a trip to Vermillion, S.D. on Sept. 18 to take on the NCAA Division I-AA University of South Dakota for a 4 p.m. kickoff inside the Dakotadome.

Northwestern’s homecoming game will take place on Sept. 25 as the Rangers host Texas College for a 3 p.m. contest in their Central States Football League conference opener.

The Rangers have a full month during October, including four road games. They begin the month in Rolla, Mo. for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Oct. 2 with Missouri University of Science and Technology. The next week, Northwestern begins a string of four CSFL conference games, as the Rangers meet Southern Nazarene in Bethany on Oct. 9 for a 6 p.m. game. The Rangers return home on Oct. 16 to host Bacone College at 2 p.m. and then head south for a 2 p.m. game with Langston University on Oct. 23. Northwestern rounds out the month in Waxahachie, Tex., playing Southwestern Assemblies of God University at 2 p.m. on Oct. 30.

The season comes to a close with a pair of November home games. Northwestern plays Oklahoma Panhandle State on Nov. 6 and closes out the season with Southern Oregon University on Nov. 13.
