WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s men’s and women’s rodeo teams both finished in second place at the Southwestern Oklahoma State Rodeo in Weatherford during April 9-11.
Robbie Wilson took the women’s all-around with 190 points, winning the breakaway roping and finishing tied for fifth in goat tying.
Brooke Inlow received top honors in goat tying with a 15.3. Molly Bates had a good showing in breakaway roping, finishing second behind Wilson. Haley Nida was in seventh place in barrel racing, while Brooke Boulware was awarded third in goat tying.
Trenton Johnson and Perry Dietz placed in the all-around, with Johnson taking second with 135 points and Dietz tied for third with 70 points. Johnson placed fifth in tie down roping and third in steer wrestling, while Dietz was in eighth in tie down roping and seventh in team roping as a header.
The Northwestern men won four events. Chancy Lovinggood won the bareback riding event with a 162.0 and Tyler Macoubrie won tie down roping with a 20.1. Lucas Camac and Joe Macoubrie were also awarded first place honors, winning steer wrestling and team roping – header, respectively.
The women’s team is leading the Central Plains Region with 2,297.5 points, and is ahead of second place Oklahoma Panhandle State by 419 points.
On the men’s side, the Rangers remain in second place in the Central Plains Region with 2,770 points.
The Rangers’ will head to Rogers State University for their next rodeo during April 17-19 in Claremore.
