ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s spring football has been in full swing since the Rangers took to the practice field on March 29. The Rangers will practice for 15 dates, with the annual spring game to follow at Ranger Field on Thursday, April 21 at 7 p.m.
“We started spring drills on March 29 with 108 players on our roster,” reported Head Coach Keith Barefield. “This is by far the largest squad I have ever coached during the Spring; however, we all know that quality is more important than quantity.”
"Our players have prepared diligently in our off-season program and are showing great enthusiasm on the practice field. We have several big holes to fill in all phases of the game.”
“Our goal this Spring involves getting those holes filled with the right people so we can hit the ground running in August as we prepare for the upcoming season. We have had many bright spots so far, but still have a ways to go to reach our goals.”
The annual spring game has will be an intersquad and be broadcast on KALV 1430 AM beginning at 6:45 p.m. You can also listen online at www.nwosu.edu/broadcast. The game will be the last day the Rangers’ will be in action during spring practice. Admission is free and concessions will not be available.
