LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Ranger golf team lost a five stroke lead in the final day of action at the Ottawa Invite at Eagle Bend Golf Course in Lawrence, Kan. to finish in second place. Northwestern was overtaken by host school Ottawa University, as OWU shot 10 strokes better on Thursday to win the tournament.
Chad Piper finished in second place, two back from the lead, shooting a 77-77—154. Chadd Kunkel was right behind with a 75-80—155 for third place. Tying for ninth place was Jay Lee and Tyler Mays, who both carded a 163. Bryant Briggs and Kefner Fisher both shot 169’s.
The Rangers will travel to the Highlands Golf Club in Hutchinson, Kan. for the Sterling College Invitational on April 5-6.
