ALVA, Okla. – After two close games with No. 1 Lubbock Christian, Northwestern dropped the third and final game of the series, 12-1, on Saturday.
Northwestern could only muster three hits, as Tom Huddleston, Vincent Valdez and Lester Gonzalez all had a hit each. Gonzalez drove in the only run, scoring Valdez in the fifth inning.
Lubbock Christian had 12 hits including five home runs.
Jeremy Lawson (2-1) took the loss, pitching five innings and allowing six hits. Chase Phelps pitched 1.2 innings in middle relief and was followed by Jarad Moore throwing the final out.
Northwestern (11-6, 2-4) will remain idle until Thursday, March 11 when the Rangers will play Southern Nazarene in Bethany for a single nine-inning game at 3 p.m.
