ALVA, Okla. – The Ranger softball team pounded out 25 hits as Jacey Juden struck out 21 USAO batters, while Northwestern downed USAO 12-0 in a five-inning run rule and 10-3 in game two on Tuesday.
Northwestern scored three runs in the first four innings, as the Rangers belted out 14 singles in addition to Natalie Vasquez’ double. Therese Beeler and Juden combined for seven hits, while Beeler was 4-for-4 with four runs scored and Juden drove in four runs on three hits.
Juden pitched a one-hitter, allowing a soft single to the right side in the first inning. She fanned eight batters in her 11th complete game of the season.
Juden (7-9) kept up the good work in the circle for game two. She sat down 13 USAO batters to tie her season-high. Juden gave up three runs and eight hits.
Northwestern scored in every inning but the first and tagged USAO for 10 hits. Katie Thomas, Katie Glenn and Stephanie Hines all had doubles in the game. Glenn, Allison Widener and Ashley Lovelady all had two hits each, while Thomas and Hines both picked up two RBI.
The Rangers (13-17, 6-13) will next be in action when they host No. 7 St. Gregory’s University on Thursday, April 1 at the Alva Rec. Complex at 2 p.m.
