ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Northwestern cheerleading squad finished in fifth place at the 2011 USA Collegiate Cheerleading and Dance Championships. The two-day competition, beginning on Saturday, Feb. 26 and ending on Sunday, Feb. 27 was held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.
“Tim and I had a great group of cheerleaders on the competitive squad,” remarked head coach Kaylyn Hansen. “They definitely worked hard this year and their hard work and dedication paid off. It is hard to make it past the preliminary round and into the finals. They made a statement in California and let everyone know that Northwestern was there to work. We are beyond proud of this group and we would like to thank everyone for their support.”
