LUBBOCK, Tex. – The Lady Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma State University ended the 2008-09 season in Lubbock, Tex., with a 84-60 loss to Rogers State University on Tuesday at the Rip Griffin Center.
After Northwestern was down by 16 points at the half, the Lady Rangers came out in the second half and cut the deficit to ten, but could not get any closer.
The Lady Rangers shot 37 percent from the field and was lead by sophomore forward, Claudia Vazquez’s double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. D’Shanna Butler was the only other Lady Ranger to score double figures with 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Autumn Klugh hit two three-pointers on her way to nine points.
Northwestern went 13-of-19 from the free throw line and outscored Rogers State 24-18 in the paint.
RSU shot 47 percent from the field, hitting 26-of-55 and was led by Katie Rice’s 15 points and five rebounds. The Lady Hillcats bench outscored Northwestern’s bench 33-10.
The Lady Rangers finish the season 11-18, going 6-16 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
