Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Orren Tims was honored by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics as he was selected for the NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball All-America Third-Team.
“Orren has fit in from day one and has been a great teammate and person,” remarked head basketball coach Andrew Brown. “He is very deserving of this award and honor.”
Tims, a senior transfer from Stephen F. Austin (Tex.), finished the season ranked third in the Sooner Athletic Conference and 25th in the NAIA in scoring 18.3 points per game. He scored 604 points placing him 12th in the NAIA. The forward from Ruston, La. hit 43.7 percent from the field and was 35-for-116 (30.2%) on three-pointers. He was second on the team in rebounds with a 5.2 average.
The selections are made by the NAIA Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Association All-America Committee and comprises a First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention Team. There are 10 members on each of the first three All-America teams.
