FORT SCOTT, Kan. – Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s men’s and women’s rodeo teams fared well at the Fort Scott Community College Rodeo on March 13-15, with the men’s team finishing second and the women’s team taking fourth place.
Northwestern’s men’s team scored 485 points, 40 points behind champion and host school Fort Scott.
Four Rangers finished in the top five in tie down roping, with Luke Blanton leading the way. Trenton Johnson took second, Brett Christensen finished third and Cole Wilson took fifth place.
The Rangers won the team roping event, as Jeremy Weibener (header) and Paul Tierney (heeler) both took first place.
On the women’s side, the Rangers were 10 points shy of Northeastern Oklahoma State University.
Three women placed in the top 10 in breakaway roping with Jacey Jandreau taking third place with a 7.3. Brittany Young was fifth and Gabriel Gregg finished in 10th. Molly Bates was the other female to place in an event, with a 20.3 in goat tying to give her eighth place.

Northwestern’s next rodeo will be at Goodwell where Oklahoma Panhandle State University will host from April 2-4.
