The Department of Social Work at Northwestern Oklahoma State University is pleased to announce that Monique Finley, Enid senior, was named as the 2010 National Association of Social Workers Student of the Year.

“Monique is the first student from Northwestern to receive this award,” said Kylene Rehder, social work department chair. “We are thrilled her hard work has been recognized in such a prestigious way."

Finley was presented the award by Rehder and Rae Wilson, social work field education director, on April 11, at the NASW Annual State Conference Awards Reception held at the Fred Jones Jr., Museum of Art in Norman.

"We are so proud of the accomplishments of Monique,” Rehder said.

Finley will be graduating in May and has plans to attend graduate school to obtain her Masters of Social Work degree.

"It has been an honor to watch Monique emerge from student to professional social worker,” Wilson said.
