Northwestern Oklahoma State pitcher Clay Thomas was named the inaugural Sooner Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, as he was named so for February 1-7.

Thomas, a junior right-hander from Arlington, Texas, tossed a one-hit shutout in the Rangers’ season opener against Dallas Christian. He registered seven strikeouts and two walks in six innings, while the Rangers defeated the Crusaders 7-0.

The Rangers will next be in action when they host Mount Marty College (S.D.) on Saturday, Feb. 13 and Sunday, Feb. 14 for doubleheaders beginning at 1 p.m. each day at Myers Stadium.
