ALVA, Okla. – The Northwestern Lady Rangers finished their third and final game of the week with a 64-54 loss to Rogers State at Percefull Fieldhouse on Saturday. The loss dropped NWOSU to 9-13 overall and to 4-12 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
After trailing by 12 at intermission, the Rangers made up ground in the second half, outscoring Rogers State 28-24, but that wasn’t enough as the Lady Hillcats outshot the Lady Rangers 43 to 33 percent.
D’Shanna Butler led Northwestern in scoring for the third consecutive game and scored 49 points on the week with a 15 point performance. Seven of her 15 were at the free throw line as NWOSU hit 14-of-19 free throws. Claudia Vazquez scored 14 points and Ashley Johnson finished in double figures also, with 11 points.
Rogers State hit 10 three’s and held Northwestern to just two from beyond the arch. The Lady Hillcats were spurred by Autumn Thompson’s 19 points and got 17 points from Hunter Peterson.
Northwestern (9-13, 4-12) will be at home for both games next week as they host Lubbock Christian and Wayland Baptist.
