Former Northwestern Oklahoma State University basketball players, cheerleaders and band members are invited to preregister for the Sixth Annual Alumni Basketball Games Feb. 19. The Alumni Basketball Games will begin at approximately 5:30 p.m. immediately following varsity games vs. Lubbock Christian University in Percefull Fieldhouse on Northwestern’s Alva campus.
Admission to the alumni games is free, and the Rowdy Rangers will serve hot dogs to the first 300 people attending the event.
Each game, players sporting game jerseys will have a chance to team up with their fellow alumni during two 20-minute running halves. Ben Buckland, a 1968 graduate and public address announcer for the Oklahoma City Barons, and Matt Adair, a 2005 graduate and the voice of Ranger Basketball, will provide color commentary as former Ranger cheerleaders and band members cheer on the teams and provide school spirit. Nicole (Dowler) Luckie, a 1997 graduate, will direct the alumni band.
All participants will be introduced and receive the annual event’s official T-shirt. Non-playing alumni will be recognized center court, and participants in each category who travelled the farthest will be acknowledged.
Contests and prize drawings are planned, and future Rangers will receive a small memento.
Former basketball players, band members and cheerleaders may pre-register with Lizabeth Richey, alumni director, by phone at 580-327-8594 or e-mail at email@example.com. Registration will also be available the day of the game.
