SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – In its final game of the 2009-10 season, the Ranger men fell 75-50 on Saturday night to the Eagles of John Brown (Ark.)
John Brown held the hot shooting hand, hitting above .500 from the field, three-point range and from the free throw line, while holding NWOSU to just 30 percent from the field and one Ranger three-pointer, from Kendrae Carter.
The Rangers suffered a slow first half, down 38-21, and couldn’t recover.
Leading the Rangers was Brandon Dixon’s 20 points. Jonathan Freemyer added 12 points of his own, while both Dixon and Freemyer came up with seven rebounds.
John Brown’s Davaughn Jackson led four Golden Eagles in double figures with 13 points.
Northwestern ended the season at 11-18 overall and at 6-16 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. The Rangers will lose two players, the No. 3 all-time scorer in Ranger history in Brandon Brown, who scored a career total of 1,488 points and Brandon Dixon, who was ranked second in the conference with 11 double doubles.
