SHAWNEE, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State women’s basketball team ended its season with a 65-58 loss to St. Gregory’s in Shawnee on Saturday.
The Lady Rangers’ 31-26 halftime lead was erased as St. Gregory’s outscored Northwestern 39-27 in the second half.
Field goal and free throw percentage was similar for both teams. The Lady Rangers and Lady Cavs both shot 38 percent from the field. St. Gregory’s had one more free throw made than Northwestern, hitting 14 compared to the Lady Rangers 13.
St. Gregory’s hit nine three-pointers and held Northwestern to just three, all in the first half.
Alecia Heath, playing in her final game, and Rachel Wilczek, led NWOSU with 10 points. Wilczek hit two of Northwestern’s three treys. Renee Golliday and Audrey Richmond both had eight points.
Leticia Silva of St. Gregory’s had a game-high of 31 points.
Northwestern finished the season at 10-17 overall and was 6-16 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The Lady Rangers will lose two seniors, Alecia Heath and Claudia Vazquez.
