SHAWNEE, Okla. – The Northwestern Lady Ranger basketball team was banged up Monday by No. 19 Oklahoma Baptist after dropping its final SAC contest of the semester, 101-57, in Shawnee.
Oklahoma Baptist was hot, shooting 58 percent on the night and was even better from beyond the arch, canning 10-of-16 three’s. The Bison had three players score 20 points or better and those three were responsible for 70 of OBU’s 101 points. Jennifer Jupin led the way with 29.
Northwestern’s D’Shanna Butler was the leading scorer for the Lady Rangers with 14 points and four assists. Kellie Krows and Ashley Johnson followed with eight a piece.
Collectively, Northwestern shot 35 percent on the night and was 7-of-21 from three. The Lady Rangers shot just seven free throws and made four.
Northwestern was guilty of 18 turnovers that led to 26 OBU points.
Northwestern (5-3) will play its final game of the semester on Sunday, Dec. 14 against Newman (Kan.). Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. at Percefull Fieldhouse.
