ALVA, Okla. – The Lady Ranger’s advanced to 5-2 on the season and evened their conference record to 1-1 after flying past St. Gregory’s (1-8), 69-48, in Northwestern’s home SAC opener at Percefull Fieldhouse on Thursday night.
After opening up with two three-pointers by Kelli Krows, the Lady Rangers led the entire game. Northwestern held St. Gregory’s to just 13 first half points as the Cavaliers shot 22 percent in the opening half.
During the second half, Northwestern led by as much as 26 points.
The Lady Rangers shot 37 percent on the evening, while holding their opposition to 29 percent. As a team, Northwestern was 9-of-26 from three-point range and hit 16-of-19 free throws.
D’Shanna Butler and Kelli Krows led the scoring for Northwestern with 14 points each. Krows was 4-of-6 from three. Claudia Vazquez had nine rebounds and Danielle Stebens had six.
The Lady Rangers (5-2) travel to Shawnee to take on Oklahoma Baptist at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 8.
