POINT LOOKOUT, MO. – The Northwestern men’s basketball team picked up its second win in as many games, as Jonathan Freeymer scored 23 points in the Rangers 77-68 win against the College of the Ozarks on Saturday afternoon.
Despite a 35-30 halftime deficit, the Rangers fought back to shot 55 percent in the second half and hit 11-of-15 free throws to hold onto the victory.
Northwestern held the College of the Ozarks to 41 percent, while the Rangers shot 48 percent on the day.
Freemyer hit 9-of-11 from the field and added a pair of three’s on his was to his game-high of 23 points. Marshall Bell finished with 17 points, while Orren Tims and Thiago Guilherme each had 11.
The Rangers (2-0) return home on Friday, Nov. 12 and Saturday, Nov. 13 for the Aaron Sales and Lease/Ranger Basketball Classic, held at Percefull Fieldhouse. On Friday, NWOSU will host Paul Quinn College (Tex.) at 8 p.m. and then match up against Friends (Kan.) at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
