BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – The Lady Ranger basketball team completed a two-game sweep of Oklahoma Wesleyan, defeating the Lady Eagles 81-60 at Mueller Sports Complex in Bartlesville. The win advanced NWOSU to 5-2 on the season.
Northwestern outshot OWU by 13 percent, shooting 37 percent on the afternoon and holding OWU to just 24 percent.
Oklahoma Wesleyan struggled early, shooting only 19 percent in the opening half, giving way to a 44-26 NWOSU halftime advantage.
The Lady Rangers finished the day with Keindra Scott leading the scoring prowl, knocking down 16 points while going 6-of-12 from the floor and adding four free throws. Heather O’Neal added 14 points, while Hannah Guthrie scored nine. Scott led Northwestern with seven rebounds.
Northwestern also dominated in rebounds, ripping 51 boards compared to just 34 OWU rebounds. The Lady Rangers shot 8-of-24 from three and hit 11-of-15 free throws.
The Ranger women (5-2) host Oklahoma Christian on Monday, November 23 in the first Sooner Athletic Conference game of the season at 6 p.m. in Percefull Fieldhouse.
