HILLSBORO, Kan. – The Lady Ranger basketball team was handed its second loss of the season after Tabor College (Kan.) held onto a 10-point halftime lead to defeat Northwestern 53-46.
After trailing 31-21 at the break and just shooting 23 percent for the first half, Northwestern managed to outscore the Lady Bluejays 25-22 in the final half.
The Lady Rangers upped their shooting percentage to 41 percent in the second half to finish the game at 31 percent. Northwestern hit just 3-of-16 from three-point range and were 13-of-18 from the free throw line.
Northwestern coughed up 29 turnovers and 17 points off of Tabor’s 25 turnovers.
Hayley Luis led with eight points, six of which were free throws. Keindra Scott and Mandy Norman had seven points each.
The Lady Rangers, now 4-2 on the season, play an exhibition game at Fort Hays State University on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 5:30 p.m.
