Northwestern dropped its Sooner Athletic Conference soccer opener, 4-0, against Oklahoma Christian on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The Eagles scored a pair of goals in each half to drop the Rangers to 0-8 on the season.
The Rangers shot once in the opening half and three times in the second period, with two shots landing on goal. Hannah Layden and Kelsey Burdick had shots on goal for Northwestern.
Kelsey Archer picked up a save, before injuring herself in the goal during the 15th minute of play. Dana Gandolfo replaced Archer as the keeper and snagged nine saves for the remainder of the game.
Oklahoma Christian (8-2-1, 2-1) fired 30 shots, landing 14 on goal.
Fouls were plentiful, with 31 total fouls. Oklahoma Christian was whistled for 18, while the Rangers 13.
