OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Amanda Dixon paced the Ranger women’s golf team with a two-day total of 158 at the University of Central Oklahoma Classic played at the par 70, 6,120-yard Lincoln Park East Course on Monday and Tuesday.
Dixon carded an 83-75—158 for a tie for 40th place. Cari Hall shot an 84-87—171 and took 78th, while Stephanie Martin fell in a tie for 84th with a 92-83—175. Hope Conneywerdy and Jacey Ford were a stroke off each other, shooting a 182 and 183, respectively.
Northwestern improved by 23 strokes on Tuesday, shooting a 330, after totaling a 353 in the opening day of the tournament. The Rangers tied for 16th with Lincoln University (Mo.) as the host school, the University of Central Oklahoma, won the event with a 582. Northwestern was the only NAIA school in a field of 15 other NCAA Division schools.
Northwestern will play its final tournament of the fall season on Oct. 11-12 at the Sterling Fall Invitation at the Highlands Golf Club in Hutchinson, Kan.
