ALVA, Okla. - The Ranger soccer team was edged by Lubbock Christian on Tuesday afternoon, as the Lady Chaparrals owned a 3-2 victory at the Alva Rec. Complex with three second half goals.
Northwestern struck quick as Brianne Brown scored her fifth goal of the season off a foul kick from Christina Nunez, just 45 seconds into the game.
The Rangers 1-0 lead was cut in the 48th minute, as LCU tied the game at 1-1.
Taylor Marsh netted her fourth goal of the season off another assist from Nunez, giving the Rangers the go-ahead goal at the 51 minute mark.
Lubbock Christian scored two consecutive unassisted goals in the 60th and 66th minute to take the 3-2 win.
In the physical match, featuring three yellow cards and a combined 35 fouls, Northwestern got off six shots, while four were on goal. The opposition took 22 shots, 16 coming in the second half.
Kelsey Archer produced her second 10-save game, facing 13 shots on goal.
The Rangers (3-7, 0-3) will travel to Edmond on Saturday for a 6 p.m. match against Oklahoma Christian.
