For the third consecutive week, Northwestern Oklahoma State swept the CSFL Player of the Week honors, while Nate Guillory, Jay Bray and Jared Jackson were honored by the conference. No. 23 Northwestern defeated No. 21 Langston University 20-13 on the road this past Saturday.
Guillory, a senior running back from Houston, Tex., scored two of the three Rangers’ touchdowns on runs of one-yard and five-yards. He rushed 28 times for 104 yards and also had two receptions for three yards. Guillory is currently ranked No. 11 in the NAIA in rushing yardage.
A freshman defensive back from Roanoke, Ala., Bray, sewed up six tackles, three that were solo and had a tackle for a loss of a yard. He also broke up a pass.
Jackson, a sophomore running back from Moore, returned two kickoffs for a total of 57 yards. To start the third quarter, Jackson returned the kickoff 51 yards, setting up a Ranger score six plays later.
Northwestern (5-2, 4-0) will play its final CSFL conference game on October 30, when the Rangers head to Waxahachie, Texas for a 2 p.m. kickoff against Southwestern Assemblies of God University.
