ALVA – Northwestern won its fourth consecutive game and second home game of the season, as the Rangers came away with a 51-14 victory over Bacone at Ranger Field on Saturday.
Brock Wardlaw scored the first Ranger touchdown with 1:40 in the first half, intercepting a pass and returning it 35 yards for a touchdown.
Bacone took an 8-7 lead after a second quarter touchdown after a seven play, 74-yard drive.
Northwestern held a 24-8 lead at the half and held Bacone off until they scored with 45 seconds left in the game.
Kyle Jech threw for 200 yards, completing 21 of 30 passes. Jech threw three touchdown passes, all to Korey Williams, as Williams finished with 127 yards on 11 catches. Nate Guillory rushed 19 times for 68 yards and scored a touchdown.
The Rangers had 318 total yards and held Bacone to 241 yards.
Rocky Lee led all tacklers with 15 tackles, five being solos. He also had 3.5 tackles for loss including a sack and a half. Peter Brooks followed with seven tackles, while Rob Davis and Daniel Golden had five tackles each.
Northwestern (4-2, 3-0) will next play Langston on the road on October 23. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
