OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – No. 7 Mid-America Christian scored two goals within the last 15 minutes, lifting MACU over the Rangers 2-1 in Oklahoma City on Friday.
Taylor Marsh scored her team-high 6th goal of the season during the 38th minute, giving the Rangers a 1-0 lead. NWOSU held onto the lead for 39 minutes, until MACU found the back of the net during the 77th and 86th minutes, giving them the 2-1 edge.
Shots taken in the first half were virtually the same, as NWOSU took five to MACU’s six. The second half was a different story, as the Evangels took 27 shots, while the Rangers got off two.
Kelsey Archer came up with 14 saves in the 16 shots on goal.
The Rangers (5-8, 2-4) end a four-game road swing on Tuesday, Oct. 19 in Bethany. Northwestern will kick off at 4 p.m. against Southern Nazarene.
