STERLING, Kan. – The Northwestern women’s golf team rounded out the fall season, capturing the Sterling Fall Invitational by 44 strokes, while Amanda Dixon won the tournament with a 173, putting her eight strokes ahead of the field. The tournament was held at the Highlands Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan. on October 11-12.
The Rangers, who led both days, shot a 398 on Monday, and improved by 20 strokes on Tuesday to shot a 378.
Dixon, who won her fourth tournament of the fall, shot rounds of 91 and 82 to combine for a 173. Cari Hall tied for fourth with a 97-90—187, while Hope Conneywerdy came in ninth with two rounds of 100. Madison Howard finished in 12th with a 110-106—216 and Jacey Ford tied for 13th after shooting 110-108—218.
Northwestern will be idle the rest of the fall and pick up the golf season during next spring.
