Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Korey Williams, Richard Gunnels and Nate Guillory, swept the Central States Football League honors for the past weekend. They did so after the Rangers defeated Southern Nazarene University, 62-42, on Saturday.
Williams, a senior receiver from New Orleans, La., scored twice, once on the ground and one receiving, in the Rangers’ win. He caught six passes for 108 yards and rushed twice for 30 yards. Currently, he ranks eighth in the NAIA in receptions per game with 6.8/game.
Gunnels, a senior linebacker from Lovelady, Texas, picked up eight tackles, including six solo stops in Northwestern’s win over Southern Nazarene. He had a 28-yard interception return before halftime that set up a Northwestern field goal. Gunnels also had 1.5 tackles for loss and a pass break up.
A senior running back and kick returner, Guillory racked up 131 yards on two kickoff returns, including one returned for a 90-yard touchdown. He finished the day with 333 all-purpose yards (178 rushing, 24 receiving, and 131 on kick offs).
The Rangers (3-2, 2-0) will host Bacone College in CSFL action on Saturday, Oct. 16 at Ranger Field. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
