ALVA – No. 2 Oklahoma City University was too much for the Lady Rangers on Thursday night, as the Stars downed the Northwestern women 93-51.
Oklahoma City held onto to a double digit lead from the 8:46 mark in the first half through the end of the game.
Northwestern struggled shooting, hitting 24 percent. The Lady Rangers added just two three-pointers and hit 25-of-34 free throws in a foul-happy game that featured 49 fouls. Northwestern lost the battle on the boards, 52-28.
Renee Golliday had three field goals and seven free throws to lead the Lady Rangers with 13 points. Golliday also led the Rangers in rebounds with five. Audrey Richmond scored nine points as Allyson McFeeters and Mandy Norman both finished with seven points.
Northwestern (7-5, 3-4) plays its fourth game in seven days at Mid-America Christian on Saturday, Jan. 8. The game will start at 6 p.m.
