PLAINVIEW, Tex. – The Northwestern Lady Rangers came out of Texas without a win as Wayland Baptist defeated Northwestern 69-53 on Saturday.
Despite out shooting Wayland Baptist 44 to 43 percent, Northwestern again struggled from three-point range, hitting only 3-of-17 attempts. Autumn Klugh was the only Lady Ranger to can a three.
Northwestern trailed 37-24 at the half and was outscored by three points in the second half.
Annalena Farias put up 14 points for Northwestern, while Autumn Klugh had 11 points. D’Shanna Butler and Emily Gilbert scored 10 points each, as Butler added four steals and three assists.
Rose Ouma scored 20 points to lead Wayland Baptist. WBU shot 39 percent from three and hit 16-of-18 free throws.
Northwestern (7-10, 2-9) returns to Alva on Thursday, Jan. 29 for a 6 p.m. game with Oklahoma Baptist (17-2, 10-1).
