LUBBOCK, Tex. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State University women’s basketball team trailed the entire game on Saturday against Lubbock Christian, leading to an 84-39 at the Rip Griffin Center in Lubbock, Tex.
Northwestern succumbed to a 17-2 run to start the first half and trailed 43-25 at the midpoint. The Lady Chaps shot 48 percent in the first half and 38 percent in the second half, while hitting 8-of-21 three-pointers and making 28 free throws.
As a team, NWOSU hit 29 percent from the field and was 2-of-16 from beyond the arc. Keindra Scott’s 13 points and five rebounds led the Lady Rangers in both categories. Summer Johnson and Audrey Richmond each scored five points.
Northwestern was guilty of 30 turnovers, leading to 34 LCU points.
Ashley Coggins was the Lady Chaps leading scorer with 14 points.
The Lady Rangers, now 9-11 overall and 3-9 in the Sooner Athletic Conference, will next take on St. Gregory’s University on Thursday, Jan. 28 in Shanwee.
