ALVA, Okla. – Northwestern’s women’s basketball team evened the season at 9-9 overall after a 72-53 loss to No. 9 Oklahoma City University on Saturday night in Percefull Fieldhouse. The loss drops the Lady Rangers to 3-7 in the conference and puts them in 8th place.
Northwestern held the ninth ranked Stars to just one three-pointer in the opening half, but OCU hit nine more field goals than the Rangers to take a 38-24 halftime lead.
Oklahoma City shot 44 percent on the night, scoring 32 points off of 25 Lady Ranger turnovers. The Stars were led by Starr Fairbanks 17 points.
Northwestern shot 38 percent collectively and were paced by Keindra Scott’s double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. Autumn Klugh hit three trey’s to score nine points and Rachel Wilczek finished with eight. The Lady Rangers were 8-of-21 from three-point range and hit 16-of-22 from the charity stripe.
The Lady Rangers (9-9, 3-7) will head to Texas next week and start the week off with a 6 p.m. game against Wayland Baptist on Thursday, Jan. 21.
