ALVA – The Northwestern Lady Rangers got on the winning side after a three-game skid, downing St. Gregory’s 73-59 at Percefull Fieldhouse on Thursday night.
The game went through nine lead changes in the first half before Northwestern held a 37-29 halftime lead, using an 8-2 run during the final 2:47 in the opening stanza.
NWOSU held a double figure lead for virtually the final 15 minutes of the game, leading by as much as 18 points at the 9:29 mark.
The Lady Rangers hit 27-of-61 from the field (44 percent) and hit two more three’s than SGU, converting on 6-of-23.
Audrey Richmond added 15 points to head the Lady Rangers scoring, while Cluadia Vazquez scored 13 and Autumn Klugh hit two three-pointers on her way to scoring 10 points. Richmond also led the way in rebounds, grabbing seven. Renee Golliday, Hannah Guthrie both had six boards.
St. Gregory’s shot 33 percent and was paced by Leticia Silva’s 24 points, that included all four of the Lady Cavaliers three-pointers.
Northwestern (8-6, 4-5) will travel to Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee on Saturday, Jan. 15 for a 6 p.m. game.
